Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) (erstwhile DeitY) has notified "Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012" on 03 October 2012 for fifteen categories of electronics items. Fifteen more product categories were added by MeitY under this order on 13 November 2014. MeitY has also notified Indian Standard for ‘Indian Language Support for Mobile Phones’ on 24 October 2016. Another thirteen product categories were added by MeitY under this order on 23 August 2017 and Another 12 product categories were added by MeitY under this order on 01 Apr 2020. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) then registers the manufacturers under its registration scheme who are permitted to declare that their articles conform to the Indian Standard (s).
Manufacturers of any of 61 products notified in Compulsory Registration Order (dated 03rd October 2012 and dated 14th November 2014 issued by MietY), located in India or outside India can apply for grant of Registration under Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).
Total time for BIS Registration will be approx. 20 working days, including testing time and BIS application processing time.
MCS Technology Inc will handle end to end pre-registration request, sample preparation, documentation, test report and application process for BIS Certificate.
