TEC Interface Approval & TEC Type Approval

TEC refers to Telecom Engineering Centre, The Department of Telecommunications, guides TEC Approvals for Telecom Equipment, for connection to public networks or interface with them. Regulations and Standards, which need to be followed by the entities or organisations, has been guided by TEC which have generally adopted International standards. This includes mandatorily a visit/ inspection to manufacturer premise for the grant of approval, also presence of Local Representative of the manufacturer is required.

Who can apply?

Man products listed below that are sold or imported into India will require testing and certification. Column two of the list below note Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS), or General Certification Scheme (GCS).

Process Time

The SCS process, the applicant shall submit test results from an accredited test lab in India, and complete the online self-declaration of conformity (SDoC). The submitted test results will be reviewed and, if equipment is found compliant, certificate will be issued.

The GCS process, the applicant shall submit test results from an accredited test lab in India, upload test reports, and confirm uploaded documents and reports are correct. These test results and test reports will be reviewed, and, if equipment is found compliant, certificate will be issued.

Total time for TEC Certification Service will be approx. 30 working days.
